There are three forthcoming events I am involved in that people may be interested in. The events are related to the Dynamics of Knowledge Creation research project which I have been working on for the last two years. The events are (see the links):
- A seminar with the Centre for Global & Higher Education, held at Lancaster University on 13th Oct 2016. Title: Academics’ changing writing practices – international implications.
- A seminar at the Dept of Educational Research (Lancaster University) on 9th Nov 2016. Title: Learning to write as an academic.
- And finally, the end-of-project conference on Friday 13th January 2017 at the Society for Research into Higher Education (London).
The first two events will be live-streamed and/or recorded, and the final event in January 2017 will outline the project’s findings as the research comes to a close. I have really enjoyed working on this project, the resesarch opportunity has been amazing – to work with, shadow, and learn about the different writing processes of academics across different Universities and disciplines. The experience is something that will support me in my new Lectureship at Queens University Belfast commencing in January. I am very much looking forward to it.
