Talk for Hamad Bin Khalifa University

On Sunday 15th October, Heng Wang and I presented on our Sino-Muslim Heritage Literacies project to an international and interdisciplinary group of scholars as part of a seminar series at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar.

The seminar was titled ‘A Semiotics of Sino-Muslim Heritage Literacy in China’ and brought together elements of data from various strands of existing and forthcoming research outputs from the project. It was a great opportunity to share research insights and get feedback on work completed so far. There are more events to come, including at the Manchester China Institute in February 2024. Here are a couple of brief clips from the recording of the event which introduce the research and an aspect of the analysis. I apologise for the subpar audio quality and any inaccuracies in the pronunciation of Chinese words. I am in the process of learning the Chinese language, and I acknowledge that my pronunciation may not be perfect.
