I disagree with your contract icon. People generally hold their hands parallel to the ground when they “shake on it.” Hands clasped at a downward angle generally signify romance.
I thought some of it was quite hard too. As for the contract icon, yes, I see your point. Hands clasped at a downward angle can also mean ‘reconciliation’ or ‘friendship’ too.
